Merry Christmas from Mayor Whitmire
December 2025 -- I am excited to see Houstonians across our city enjoying the holiday season. As I prepare to celebrate with my loved ones, I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and hope you enjoy time with your family, friends, and neighbors.
This month, I was proud to commemorate the holidays at City Hall, from lighting the Christmas tree and the Menorah on the first night of Hanukkah to listening to Kingwood High School carolers. I also visited with city employees and supported the Houston Police Department’s Comida Food Drive, a program that provided 700 holiday meals to area families.
As we head into the new year, I will remain focused on improving public safety and infrastructure, while enhancing the quality of life for everyone and making city government work better for the people we serve.
Since becoming mayor, you’ve heard me say, “let’s go to work,” and I’m proud of the progress we are making as a city and the work of our municipal employees, police officers, and firefighters.
