Our son inadvertently initiated multiple 911 calls while attempting to access our secured mobile devices, culminating in a dispatch response today. I am profoundly impressed by the professionalism and training exhibited by the responding officers. Firstly, the Houston Police Department's Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) system and 911 dispatch effectively recorded and analyzed the recurring data, accurately identifying this as a potentially high-risk scenario, especially given the numerous accidental dials and my husband's missed callback today. Secondly, all responding officers demonstrated exceptional training in handling domestic situations; they established direct eye contact to confirm safety, assessed the situation with composure and analytical precision, and acted swiftly. The lead female officer, equipped with a pink iPhone, was particularly outstanding. She astutely recognized that our son has special needs (he is autistic, and she inquired about his well-being), clearly discerning that despite his playful, half-dressed demeanor and talk of monsters, the situation was safe and the calls were accidental, even when he humorously exclaimed, "Help me, Houston Police, there is a monster under the couch." (I was quite embarrassed.) This incident could have served as a cautionary tale, but instead, it stands as a prime example of effective peace officer conduct and community safety. We commend the Houston Police Department.

Officer Williams
2/28/2026
I am writing to commend Officer Williams for his outstanding service and professionalism.
During an extremely difficult time in my life involving an emotionally abusive relationship that ultimately resulted in two felony charges, Officer Williams provided exceptional support and guidance. From the beginning, he handled my case with urgency, compassion, and a high level of professionalism that made a significant difference in my experience.
Officer Williams worked promptly and efficiently, ensuring that my case was taken seriously and progressed without unnecessary delay. Throughout the process, he remained kind, respectful, and attentive, always taking the time to explain what was happening and to make sure I felt heard and supported.
His dedication, professionalism, and genuine care for those he serves are truly commendable. He is an impressive officer and a tremendous asset to the community as a whole.
I am deeply grateful for his assistance and wanted to share my appreciation in hopes that his hard work and commitment are recognized.

Officer Rodriguez
2/26/2026
My daughter's car was parked on Alabama. A black Honda Accord hit her car and left the scene.
Officer Rodriguez was spectacular in his attention to detail, courtesy and giving of information. He even parked his patrol car with the lights on so that the AAA driver could safely change the tire and we could get the vehicle to a body shop.
Officer Rodriquez made the difference between the situation being overwhelming and frightening in the dark in an unknown neighborhood versus feeling like my daughter and I were safe and could handle things.

Officer Cox
2/23/2026
Officer Cox arrived to assist with a very scary circumstance involving what ended up being a stolen vehicle. Officer Cox was professional and kind. He made sure the area was safe. Even though the vehicle had not yet been reported stolen Office Cox made an effort to contact the owner. He reviewed the videos from the cameras at my home. Office Cox showed incredible professionalism in how he handled this situation. Because of his professionalism it made me, my wife, and my children, and my neighbors feel safer because of him.

Officer Rivera, Officer Thompson-Martin, Officer Shaffer, Officer Brown, Sgt. Thorndyke, & Sgt. Schmidt
2/14/2026
Six officers were called to my parents’ home as my brother was having a psychotic episode. All the officers performed with the utmost professionalism and care, ensuring everyone on the scene was safe. When approaching my brother, in spite of his adversarial and angry demeanor, they were calm and actually stepped in to protect me from him with the utmost care. Even as my brother was shouting obscenities at them, after he was detained, they continued to say that they were here for him - trying to support him in his mental illness. This day could have turned out so tragic, but because of their actions, he is now safe in a hospital. I couldn't feel more elated at their actions, and their care for myself and my family (especially my brother) during this difficult time. They are truly Kingwood's finest! Thank you!

Officer Moore
2/12/2026
Officer Moore took a report from one of our executives regarding death threats that were made against him by one of his recently terminated employees. Even though I'm sure this was "routine" to Office Moore and extremely upsetting to our executive, Office Moore treated our executive with such compassion and care, that you would have thought that it was one of her family members who was the victim. And instead of just filing the report and letting a Detective handle it a day or so later, she stayed with the incident, spoke with a Harris County ADA, collected all the evidence and filed charges against the ex-employee which resulted in a warrant being issued for his arrest. If more Officers had the pride and acted like Officer Moore did, the public perception of HPD would be much better !!

Officer Castrejon
2/10/2026
I was in a 3-car collision. I was a passenger. Given the emotional status of the other 5 people, I witnessed a professional officer, first at the collision, Officer Castrejon. She took control of the issues and calmed every one so that she effectively got us passengers taken care of. I was really impressed.

Officer Phan
2/10/2026
Officer Phan was the investigative officer in my incident after we waited a long time at the Westside Police Station. Officer Phan looked into our incident and showed patience and understanding to our complex situation as the other party lied about what had happened to avoid arrest. Officer Phan was diligent in gathering evidence to present to the District Attorney office so that justice can be served and that bad people can't get away with physically hurting others.

Officer Guilloy
2/9/2026
Officer Guilloy was at the scene of an incident within 15 minutes of our call. He was calm, polite, and patiently took our information. He helped us look around the area for belongings the thief might have discarded.
Finding none, we went on our way, but Officer Guilloy managed to retrieve most of my stolen belongings within the next half hour!!
I’m grateful that he noticed my bag when responding to another BMV close by. He called us immediately and we drove back to collect my things.
I’m impressed with his perseverance and very thankful.
Thank you, Houston PD!

This letter concerns my call for assistance on February 2026. The responding officers arrived quickly and handled the situation professionally.
I manage the property on Canal Street, where I rent several rooms. I discovered two intruders inside unit #2, which is vacant and closed. One was a former tenant whom I previously had to evict and permanently ban from the premises. The other individual, is associated with the current tenants, who are themselves in the process of eviction.
House rules allow tenants to have guests, but guests must always be accompanied by the tenant who invited them. They were in unit #2 unaccompanied. I ordered them to leave and went to call 911. One left immediately while the other lingered, behaved erratically, and threatened me before finally exiting. Four squad cars arrived as he was walking away. Officers detained and questioned him. He claimed the current tenancts had invited him, but they did not answer their door, so this could not be confirmed. He was formally trespassed from the property, which I consider an appropriate resolution.
The house on Canal Street has a difficult history. Since taking over in July 2025, my goals have been to remove criminal tenants, stop open drug use, and end the constant traffic. Progress has been challenging, and HPD’s assistance has been essential.
Word is spreading in the neighborhood that Canal Street is no longer a place for drug activity or rule breakers to gather, and I appreciate HPD’s continued support in maintaining order.

I am writing to formally commend a Houston Police Department officer who responded to a mental health crisis involving my adult son in Houston February 2026, on Milam Street, Houston, Texas.
Although I regret that I do not have the officer’s name, I am hopeful this commendation can be routed appropriately using dispatch records.
My son was experiencing an acute psychiatric emergency and had contacted police out of fear and confusion. The responding officer immediately recognized the situation for what it was, a medical and mental health crisis, not a criminal one. His judgment in that moment was extraordinary.
The officer was calm, patient, and compassionate. Most importantly, he chose to stay with my son, ensuring his safety and dignity, and waited with him about 30 minutes until I arrived from out of town. In a moment where the situation could easily have escalated or been mishandled, this officer’s professionalism and humanity made all the difference.
As a mother, I cannot adequately express how much his actions meant to our family. His response protected my son, prevented harm, and allowed us to transition him safely into appropriate medical care. I firmly believe his conduct reflects the very best of the Houston Police Department and deserves formal recognition.
Please extend my deepest gratitude to this officer, and thank you for your commitment to compassionate, well-trained responses to mental health crises in our community.

Officer Lasalle
2/3/2026
My father in law passed away overnight of natural causes. Officer Lasalle was tasked with the HPD response. My wife and I appreciate the professionalism he exhibited, like we've come to expect from HPD members. He knew the process, took care of the details, and was sensitive to the situation. Officer Lasalle is an asset to HPD, as have been all the men and women in HPD uniform I have interacted with. Thank you

Officer Ho
1/19/2026
I want to commend Officer Ho. He was helpful in assisting my husband I park for the MLK parade. My mother wanted to go to the parade, and we agreed to take her, but had concerns about parking and having to walk a long distance. We arrived an hour and 15 minutes early and luckily found a place to park on the street in a prime location to walk to the corner. Officer Ho was so kind and helpful and instrumental in helping us park. He even moved his personal vehicle up a few inches for us to parallel park. My mom has been talking about her enjoyment of being able to attend the parade. By the way: My mom is 90 years old. Thanks to officer P. Ho. We thank you sooo much for your act of kindness. I hope this message gets to his supervisor and directly to him.
