HPD, Area Retailers to Kick Off Holiday Shopping Safety Campaign

The six retailers – Kroger, H-E-B, Walmart, Randalls, Fiesta and Target – comprise the Greater Houston Loss Prevention Alliance (GHLPA) and partner with the Houston Police Department to help spread a simple crime prevention message to shoppers during the holidays – Safe Shopping Starts with YOU.

HPD officers will distribute theft reduction report cards on customers’ windshields, giving them a pass or fail grade as to whether they leave vehicle doors unlocked, windows opened or cracked, and if packages or valuables are in plain view.  Those same officers will meet and greet shoppers and pass out shopping safety flyers to them.
