Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Traffic Accident at 10200 Harwin

March 19, 2012 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in a fatal traffic accident in the 12400 block of West Bellfort about 4:15 a.m. on Saturday (March 17).

The suspect, Jokari Nicole Henton (b/f, DOB: 8-3-78), is charged with driving while intoxicated and unlawfully carrying a weapon in Fort Bend County.

The male victim, Jimmy Te, Jr., 19, of Sugarland, was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant C. Nickerson and Officer N. Rosenblatt reported:

According to witnesses, Mr. Te, who appeared intoxicated, was walking in the roadway in the 12400 block of West Bellfort when he was struck by a silver Toyota Corolla driven by Henton.  Te died at the scene.

Further investigation determined Henton showed signs of intoxication and he was taken into custody at the scene.  Since the incident occurred in Fort Bend County, the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office also responded to the scene.

Charges were filed by the Fort Bend County District Attorney's Office.
