July 30, 2013 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man and the wounding of another at 906 Woodcrest about 9:30 p.m. on Monday (July 29).  

The victim, Richard Cruz, 31, of the above address, was pronounced dead at the scene.  

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. Cegielski and Officer D. Fontenot reported:  

Two unknown male suspects forced their way into Mr. Cruz's home and demanded money.  At some point during the robbery, the suspects fired their weapons, killing Cruz.  A second male inside the residence was wounded by the gunfire and was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital in an unknown condition.  

The suspects are described only as a black male and a Hispanic male.
