July 18, 2014 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 7016 Avenue F about 3:20 a.m. on July 10.
The suspect, Jaime Joel Saenz (H/m, 21), is charged with murder in the 262nd State District Court. He is accused in the death of Ruben Nuncio, Jr., 37, of Houston. A photo of Saenz is attached to this news release.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant H. Chavez and Senior Police Officer X. Avila reported:
Mr. Nuncio and the suspect got into an argument, at the above address, that ended when the suspect pulled a gun and threatened Nuncio, who left the location. About one hour later, Nuncio returned to drop off a female friend and one of his cousins. Nuncio and the suspect got involved in another argument that turned physical. At some point during the fight, the suspect, described only as a Hispanic male, shot Nuncio and then fled the scene in a silver or gray Chrysler 300.
Further investigation led to the identification of Jaime Saenz as the suspect in this case and he was arrested on Wednesday (July 16) without incident.
