July 28, 2025 - Houston police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 9800 North Freeway (North Interstate Highway 45) about 9:10 a.m. on Saturday (July 26).

The deceased male is identified as Francisco Martinez, 20.

HPD Vehicular Division Sergeant A. Patterson and Officer M. Matthews reported:

A white Toyota Corolla was traveling northbound at a high rate of speed at the above address. The driver lost control and left the freeway striking a tree. Paramedics pronounced him deceased at the scene.

A female passenger, 21, was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. 

The investigation is ongoing.
