July 28, 2025 - Houston police have arrested a suspect charged in the fatal shooting of a man at 1400 Redford Street about 2:35 a.m. on May 15.

The suspect, Javeon Washington, 18, is charged with capital murder in the 209th State District Court.  A second suspect, Tyrell Robinson, 21, is charged with murder in the 174th State District Court. Booking photos of Washington and Robinson are attached to this news release.

The victim is identified as Jermon Williams, 20.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants K. Meek, R. Watson and M. Burrow, and Detective M. Perez reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at an apartment complex at the above address and found a male suffering from gunshot wounds in the parking lot area.  Paramedics pronounced him deceased at the scene.

Neighbors reported hearing gunshots before finding the male. Further investigation identified Robinson as a suspect in this incident. He was subsequently arrested and charged.

Additional investigation led to the identification of Washington as a suspect in this case and he was charged with capital murder on July 9.  Officers with HPD’s Southeast Patrol Division Crime Suppression Team arrested him on Friday (July 25).
