Winter Storm HRP

Winter Storm Uri | Single-Family Home Repair Program

Getting your home repaired shouldn’t be complicated. That’s why the City of Houston Housing and Community Development Department has simplified the application, making it faster, easier, and more accessible for homeowners impacted by Winter Storm Uri to get the help they need.

You may qualify for:

  • Up to $100,000 for home rehabilitation
  • Up to $300,000 for full reconstruction
  • Up to $10,000 in reimbursement for out-of-pocket repairs

HCD team members are ready to assist, online, by phone, or in-person, to guide you through every step.

Home Repair Assistance

The Single-Family Home Repair Program evaluates damaged homes and helps make repairs needed to protect a homeowner’s life, health, and safety. The program gives consideration to seniors over the age of 62, families with children under 18, and people with disabilities. In cases where homes are severely damaged, the program will reconstruct homes for homeowners.

Tenant / Landlord Relations

The Fair Housing Act protects individuals and families from discrimination in the sale, rental, financing, or advertising of housing based on race, color, religion, family status, national origin, sex, or disability. HCD is committed to promoting fair housing and providing affordable homes in all neighborhoods.
