Brandon Jones is a communications and public affairs professional with more than twelve years of experience in government communications, public engagement, and economic development initiatives. He specializes in strategic communications, stakeholder engagement, and public initiatives that connect businesses and communities to opportunity.
As External Affairs Division Manager for the City of Houston Office of Business Opportunity, Brandon leads communications, public outreach, partnerships, sponsorship development, and major events that support small business growth and workforce development across Houston. His work focuses on expanding access to opportunity for small businesses, strengthening community partnerships, and increasing awareness of programs and resources that support Houston’s business community and workforce.
Before joining the City of Houston, Brandon worked as a television news anchor and reporter, where he developed a strong background in storytelling, crisis communications, and public information. That experience continues to shape his approach to public service, emphasizing clear communication, transparency, and community engagement.
Brandon holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from Oakland University and a graduate degree from Texas Tech University. He is committed to mentorship, workforce development, and initiatives that create pathways to opportunity for Houston residents and small businesses.
