Adopt-an-Esplanade

On March 17, 2026, my team partnered with the Houston Parks and Recreation Department and Scenic Houston to host a virtual town hall on the Adopt-an-Esplanade program. This virtual town hall provided an overview of how to adopt an esplanade, the benefits of participating in the program, and offered a venue for people to ask questions and make comments.

The city maintains 1,550 acres of esplanades, including 7,000 islands that can range from .1 to 4.3 acres. Approximately $3 million annually is saved by adopting out these medians. The Adopt-an-Esplanade program is a great opportunity to partner and increase the beautification of our city. Let's keep our city green with love, not luck!
